Undergraduate · 5 years (full-time)
BSc Software Engineering
The flagship undergraduate programme. Combines computer science fundamentals, engineering mathematics, and software engineering practice across five years of study.
Admission requirements
- WAEC/NECO with credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other science
- JAMB UTME with the required cut-off and Software Engineering as choice of study
- Successful completion of OAU Post-UTME screening
Curriculum
Years 1–2 cover foundations (programming, discrete maths, electronics). Years 3–4 specialise (databases, software architecture, security, AI). Year 5 includes a year-long capstone project and SIWES industrial training.

Postgraduate · 18 months full-time
MSc Software Engineering
Research-led master's programme designed for graduates who want to deepen their expertise in advanced software engineering, with a substantial dissertation.
Admission requirements
- Bachelor's degree (Second Class Upper minimum) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Two academic references and a research statement
- Departmental interview
Curriculum
Coursework in advanced topics (distributed systems, secure software, ML systems) plus a research dissertation supervised by a faculty member from one of our labs.

Postgraduate · 3–5 years
PhD Software Engineering
Doctoral programme for candidates pursuing original research in software engineering — supervised within one of our research labs.
Admission requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field with a strong research component
- Detailed research proposal aligned with a faculty supervisor's interests
- Departmental admission committee approval
Curriculum
Independent research culminating in a doctoral thesis, plus seminar participation and teaching support.

PGD Software Engineering
Postgraduate Diploma for graduates of unrelated disciplines who wish to convert into software engineering at postgraduate level.
Admission requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Second Class Lower minimum)
- Demonstrated interest in computing (portfolio, prior coursework, or work)
- Successful interview
